Wedding? Alpaca my bags!

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

Hayley and Liam kicked off the 2022 wedding season at Belcote Farm this June and really made their vision come to life! Hayley shares more about her day:

The proposal

Liam proposed in Cornwall in 2021 whilst watching the sunset – it was just the perfect location. After 9 years of being together he finally popped the question and we then got married in our decade year together.

Why did you choose Belcote Farm/what was your vision for your wedding?

When I found Belcote Farm online it was everything I ever wanted and more for our special day. Rural, beautiful scenery, tipis, fairy lights, outdoor games, fire pit... My whole vision come true and when I showed Liam he fell in love the venue too- it was just perfect in every way. All we wanted was to create a day where everyone had fun, felt relaxed and had a good time. Belcote Farm makes you feel exactly that along with the help of Yaz and Chris.

The dress

I never wanted to go wedding dress shopping or spend a lot of money on one so I started looking on Facebook Marketplace where I found a lady who used to have a wedding dress shop and was selling her old stock. That’s where I found my dream dress – high neck and lace from top to bottom in ivory.

Styling and decor

The venue looked stunning just the way it was so we didn't add that much extra to it as we wanted to keep it rustic and simple. We added a few extra touches including a basket of blankets next to the fire pit and a sweet jar table. We also decorated the tables with green foliage and roses.

Catering

We used Bigmouths Kitchen as we wanted crowd-pleasing street food and a relaxing feel for our guests. We also used Daisy & Co Catering Company's vintage ice cream bike which everyone loved and was such a great touch to our day.

Standout moments from the day

We loved having the alpacas there with us, they really do bring an element of fun and great for wedding photos too.

Advice to other couples?

The only advice I can give to other couples is to relax and enjoy every single moment as the day goes by in a second. It's such a special day that you will never get back and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Belcote farm.
