Emily and Tim kicked off the first ever wedding at Belcote Farm on 31st July 2021 and it was definitely one to remember! As huge lovers of the outdoors, the coast and cars, they had a surfboard seating plan, a Caddy drinks cooler, a VW Beetle guestbook, and one hell of an entrance car… a confetti-filled Lamborghini! Here’s a few snaps from their beautiful blue and orange-themed wedding:
The proposal
Tim proposed on top of Walton Hill in Clent on my birthday – he hid the ring in a Maltesers box! We’ve walked up those hills since we started dating so it was the perfect spot.
The vision
Tim had three rules – open bar, live music and pie for lunch! We wanted a relaxed day with all the important people. When we came to Belcote Farm we knew we’d found the right place... with the added bonus of views of where we got engaged!
The dress
My dress was from Worn With Love Bridal in Hagley. Claire was so helpful, she found me the perfect dress in no time and I could pick it up within a week. The lace top was removable so I even got two dresses in one! Definitely recommend!
The ceremony
Styling and decor
The colour theme was based on our favourite colours, blue and orange. It’s hard to get orange right but Helen at The Flower Room made us the most beautiful dried flower hoops. I loved how different they were and having dried has meant I can hang them on the wall!
The cake was made by Kia (Tim’s cousin) who we knew could make delicious cake but turns out she can also make them look incredible too! I loved how the rustic look and the flowers tied in to the rest of the day.
Tim wanted an open bar, so he decided to fill his VW Caddy with beer and build a bar to serve spirits. We were pretty pleased with how it turned out. Tim actually made the surfboard which we used as the table plan when he was a teenager and we used his first car, the VW Beetle, as a guestbook!
The honeymoon
For our honeymoon we took our VW Camper round route 500 in Scotland and had an amazing time hiking mountains and exploring the coast. The trip ended with the van breaking down on the highest road in the UK… but we always like an adventure and still managed to enjoy it!
Stand-out moments
There are so many highlights from the day! A couple for us would be my bridesmaid Names singing for us as I walked down the aisle, it was beautiful! We also ended up with the music cutting out for Shine Jesus Shine but everyone just kept on singing which was pretty magical!
For Tim, he still says the best bit was getting to drive the Lambo… thanks, Tim!
The speeches were brilliant and Jay (Best Man) had everyone in tears. The silent disco was the perfect way to end the night, seeing everyone jumping around randomly and singing different songs at the top of their voices was hilarious!
Advice to other couples
Do it your way – you'll love the day even more and it will feel like a true celebration of the two of you!
